Summer School on

NEW MAGNETICS

September 15-19, 2003

Bedlewo near Poznan, Poland

SCOPE

The school is thought to be an international forum for presentation and discussion of novel scientific ideas and experimental results of new magnetic materials, with special emphasis on the electronic structure, correlated electron systems, multilayers, nanostructures and spectroscopy. The programme of the School will cover the following topics:

- magnetism of thin films;

- non-collinear magnetism in bulk systems;

- nanomagnetism;

- f-electron systems;

- magnetism of correlated systems (beyond LDA);

- low dimensional magnetic systems;

- new development in electron spectroscopy;

- transport in nanostructures;

- ab-initio methods (LAPW, FP-LMTO, ASW, SPR KKR-CPA, FPLO);

- new magnetic materials - application for future electronics.
