The "School on Chiral Liquid Crystals” have been organized by the Institute of Molecular Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Poznan, Poland, in the framework of the Centre of Excellence “Magnetic and Molecular Materials for Future Electronics”. The meeting was held between 22 and 26 May 2005 in the Conference Centre in Bedlewo near Poznan.

The school was organized in response to the rapid development of chiral liquid crystal research with the intension to provide young researchers and doctoral students with a tutorial-type exposure to the basic physics and the current problems in investigations of chiral liquid crystals, and the technologies of electrooptic devices applying these materials.

The seminar was the second meeting on chiral liquid crystals organized by our group. The first seminar (Polish-German Seminar “Selforganization in Chiral Liquid Crystals”) took place in 1996.
