Abstract:

Non-equilibrium Green Functions (NEGF) are a necessary tool to properly calculate out-of-equilibrium transport properties. However, NEGF is very demanding and cumbersome from a computational point of view and severely slows down the execution of the simulations. It is therefore necessary to simplify NEGF by resorting to simpler approximations. In this talk I will introduce the Gollum code, which does not use NEGF and is very simple to run and execute. I will explain technical details needed to install and run it and I will show some typical simulations.
