Cele badawcze

Poznanie mechanizmu relaksacji molekularnej oraz natury nośników ładunku w polimerach supramolekularnych. Poznanie wpływu wiązań wodorowych i oddziaływań dipolowych na strukturę i własności cieczy i kryształów. Badanie dynamiki molekularnej i przejść fazowych metodami magnetycznego rezonansu jądrowego.

Profil badawczy

Eksperymentalne badania metodami spektroskopii dielektrycznej i jądrowego rezonansu magnetycznego polimerów supramolekularnych, roztworów elektrolitów i materiałów ferroicznych.

Osiągnięcia naukowe

  • Eksperymentalna weryfikacja teoretycznych modeli relaksacji w polimerowych układach supramolekularnych o strukturze łańcuchowej:
    1. Wykazanie, że za złożoność widma dielektrycznego obserwowanego dla roztworów rozcieńczonych odpowiada reorientacja całych sztywnych polimerów o różnej długości wynikającej z dyspersji ich stopnia zasocjowania. W miarę wzrostu stężenia mocznika, gdy wzrasta stopień zasocjowania układu oraz jego lepkość, a układ staje się coraz bardziej złożony, odpowiedź dielektryczna staje się najprostsza z możliwych (widmo typu Debye’a). Prosta odpowiedź dielektryczna jest skutkiem reorientacji fragmentów łańcuchów powstałych podczas zrywania wiązań wodorowych. Wyznaczona energia aktywacji procesu relaksacji dielektrycznej, w całym zakresie wyższych stężeń, odpowiada dokładnie energii zerwanych wiązań wodorowych [J. Świergiel et al., Macromolecules 47, 2464 (2014)].
    2. Pokazanie, że czas relaksacji dipolowej (fragmentów długiego łańcucha polimeru, powstałych w wyniku pękania wiązań wodorowych) nie spełnia przewidywanej przez model Stokesa-Einsteina-Debye’a zależności od lepkości ośrodka. Natomiast zależność taką, w ramach modelu Stokesa-Einsteina, spełnia zarówno przewodnictwo elektryczne jak i czas relaksacji nośników ładunku występujących w badanym układzie polimerowym [J. Świergiel et al., Soft Matter 10, 8457 (2014)]
  • Propozycja empirycznej zależności stałej równowagi tworzenia się par jonowych od polaryzowalności dipolowej rozpuszczalnika [I. Płowaś et al., J. Chem. Eng. Data, 59, 2360 (2014)].
  • Wykazanie metodami 1H NMR, że w krysztale molekularnym [NH2(C2H4)2O]MX4 w przejściu fazowym w temperaturze 343 K, ulegają zerwaniu wewnątrz łańcuchowe wiązania wodorowe kationów morfoliniowych [M. Owczarek et al., Dalton Trans. 42, 15069 (2013)]
  • Interpretacja widm impedancji elektrycznej cieczy w obecności prądu jonowego i prądu przesunięcia (na przykładzie widma polimeru supramolekularnego) [J. Świergiel et al., Ind. Eng. Chem. Res. 52, 11974 (2013)]
  • Przedstawienie molekularnej interpretacji dużego efektu obniżenia temperatury topnienia w mieszaninie wody i dimetylosulfotlenku (DMSO) [I. Płowaś et al., J. Chem. Eng. Data 58, 1741 (2013)].
