Invitation to conferences

TYGIEL

On behalf of the Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Development TYGIEL we invite participation in the upcoming events: i) a conference entitled "Direction of NANO - research and achievements in the field of nanotechnology" (online), which will be held on September 16, 2022 (https://fundacja-tygiel.pl/nanotechnologia/) and ii) conference entitled "Biopolymers – a source of new materials" (online), which will be held on October 27, 2022 (https://fundacja-tygiel.pl/biopolimery/). The conferences were held under the honorary patronage by the Institute of Molecular Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

We wish everyone interested in participating in these events, in particular younger entrants of science or development, fruitful meetings and inspiring scientific discussions.

IMP PAS at Black Friday

On 30th November at Stary Browar shopping centre in Poznań, locals were able participate in a fascinating journey to the world of low temperatures. Researchers from the Institute of Molecular Physics PAS encouraged onlookers to carry out various scientific experiments that examine how different objects behave in contact with liquid nitrogen. Kids were freezing flowers and air-filled balloons, and filling soap bubbles with fog they made.

The shows were organized in cooperation with the Polish company SmartBee Club, which produces experimental sets for children. The main purpose of the shows was to promote scientific research and science in general, as well as to advertise "Fizyka Warta Poznania" – a periodical series of popular science lectures taking place at the IMP PAS.

The OPUS grant for Dr. Piotr Kuświk

Our scientist dr. hab. Piotr Kuświk has been granted by National Science Center (NSC ) for his research project “Ferromagnetic layers with lateral distribution of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction for application in spintronic and magnonic devices”.

2051 applications were submitted for the OPUS 17, with 308 of them qualified for funding. In dr Kuświk’s ST5 panel only 21 from 165 applications were approved.

The research project was granted 1 895 500 PLN for a period of 36 months.
